You can now reserve your handle on Cloudflare's new Wallet.
What we have seen in Cloudflare's new products in the last 9 months with x402 payments, Emdash, Monetization Gateway and yesterday, a Cloudflare.Pay wallet is a glimpse of what is coming.
It is an open payment standard for the agentic internet and it lets a website charge an AI agent a small toll every time it crawls or queries a page. Pair that with the Monetization Gateway and Cloudflare Wallets and the picture is clear: content that was free to scrape is about to come with a meter.
Think about what changes:
- Creators and media finally get a way to monetise machine readers, not just human subscribers.
- Sites can price per request, the same way they price per article view today.
- Agents will have to get smarter about when to crawl. Hitting the same page 20 times a day is no longer free.
As someone who lives in finance, this is the part that excites and worries me.

Every autonomous agent your team deploys is about to become a variable cost centre. A research bot, a summariser, a competitor monitor - each one could be racking up micro-payments across hundreds of sites, silently, around the clock.
That is an opportunity and a gap.
The opportunity: agent spend is a new category finance can own. Budgets, caps, approval flows, reconciliation and monthly statements for bot activity. Essentially an autonomous corporate card programme for agents.
The gap: almost no finance stack today has a line item for autonomous agent payments. No wallet with limits. No alert when a bot blows through its weekly crawl budget.
Whoever solves agent spend management cleanly is going to own a large slice of the agentic economy. The rails are being laid now with x402.
If you are in finance or ops, the question is not whether agents will pay to read the web. It is whether you will see the bill before it lands.
What are you doing to get ahead of agent-driven costs?
